She was a wonderful person, I've always loved to read and know of her.
Aww that's sad. It's good she saved her book. I visited the Ann Frank house in 2001 I think it was. It's a very unassuming shop-house on a random street in Amsterdam. It's strange to look out the window upstairs and see the tree that Anne Frank described in her book. It makes it all seem so much more real. I had an Australian girl on a trip a few months ago whose father grew up as an orphan in Germany and spent his youth picking up used cigarrette butts at the train station and rerolling the leftover tobacco to sell and he later immigrated to Australia. And this trip I have two young German pilots and one of the guy's father was a Nazi who spent several years in an American prison.
Divine spirit, make me an instrument of peace
Where there is hatred, let me sow love,
Where there is injury, pardon,
Where there is doubt, faith,
Where there is despair, hope,
Where there is darkness, light,
Where there is sadness, joy...
-Prayer of St. Francis
