thursday things.

Check Spellingsummer sweater thingy
baby hat!
pretty pictures and people.
a study on physical punishment - don't hit your kids!
in praise of bossy girls - not sure how i feel about this one, but it's interesting nonetheless

i'm getting a bit worn. why is evil and darkness SO cool? why is it bad to have faith and wonder? we went and saw happy potter tuesday nite, and almost every preview shown was about the end of times or some kind of awful tragedy. why? where are the beautiful things? i'm not saying that sadness can't be beautiful, but it shouldn't be all encompassing. i'm going to take note of beauty, goodness and hope today, and maybe even make some of my own.

I love that first video!

"why is evil and darkness SO cool?"

Because no one would follow satan if he wasn't enticing.

Romans 12:9 "Love sincerely. Hate evil. Hold on to what is good."

Proverbs 8:13 "The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverted mouth, I hate."

Amos 5:15 "Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts. Perhaps the LORD God Almighty will have mercy on the remnant of Joseph."

Psalms 97:10 "Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked."

and people are so obsessed with the end times, because 2012 is near and its the end fo the mayan calendar so everyones freaking.... but Matthew 24:36 says "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."

So... idk. I aint worried.

There's plenty of beauty to be seen, just not in theatres. walk outside.
But all that is fading.

True beauty is found in the L-rd

Psalm 27:4
"One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple."

jeff, you're right about the lack of beauty in theatres :) i think that was part of why it bugged me so much, i haven't been to see a movie since the last harry potter, i don't think. so i'm really sensitive to violence/darkness in movies because i'm not exposed to that a lot. anyway, yea, i'm not all too worried about the "END OF DAYS" either, i'm good with today :)

Cory & I had decided a couple years ago that we were only going to watch classic movies. We failed, of course, but I always want to do it. At the risk of sounding 55, they just don't make em like they used to any more.
